I met up with these two for their Madison engagement session this fall.
It was sunny, silly and packed full of smiles.
They’ve been through some tough times and what I can only imagine have been some great times. I mean, look at the way they laugh together!
Before their engagement session, Kaitlyn revealed that a couple years back, Ryan was t-boned by a car while riding his motorcycle. As a result, Ryan had to deal with a long hospital stay and many surgeries.
Instead of saying, “yeah, it sucked” or something else along those lines, she told me that she was grateful…
Grateful that she was able to stay overnight in the hospital with him and grateful that she was able to take time off of work to be with him and help during his recovery.
How beautiful is it that people can still have attitudes of gratitude, even when they’re facing something most of us imagine just can’t happen to us. If the thought crossed our minds that we could be in that situation, we’d be quick to shove it to the back of our minds. Once it was there, we’d lock it up and throw away the key.
Being a part of the lives of my Wisconsin couples (and beyond!) through my photography journey, gives me the chance to show them the beauty that exists in their own relationship and show them the way other people see them.
There’s a good chance that I’ve got rose-colored glasses on, but that’s okay!
Everybody could use another friend fangirl-ing for their relationship and I’m happy to do just that.
